Closest major airports: Wellington Airport and Palmerston North Airport with access from both by bus or, in the case of Wellington, by train. There is an Air NZ service from Auckland to Masterton.

The club was established 1984.
The area is mainly agricultural including sheep and beef, and dairying. There are also extensive areas of grapes, olives and timber. The
main centre is Masterton and the other towns in the valley are Carterton. Greytown, Featherston and Martinborough. Attractions include the Castlepoint and Riversdale beaches about 1 hour east of Masterton, Mt Holdsworth, Aratoi Art and History Centre and paua shell manufacturing, Gladstone Scarecrow Festival (October), Fell Engine (Featherston), the Pioneer Museum, Mt Bruce, vineyards at Martinborough, Taratahi and Opaki, Ngawai fishing village, the Cape Palliser seals, the Golden Shears competition (Masterton in March), the Balloon Festival and "Pukaha" the Mt Bruce Wildlife Centre. We welcome friends from all nations for a week's hosting and hope they will enjoy there stay here.
